I got a last minute chance to visit Greece in August 2021 and said yes before asking a single logistics question. A close friend and I hit three cities — Athens, Santorini, and Mykonos — over the span of two weeks. The food, the views, and the history were obviously amazing. (I had a high school history teacher who talked about being able to “feel the history” in certain places; Greece certainly belongs on that list.) But for me, the colors stole the show. Deep blue skies; stark white marble; buttery yellow sunrises and blazing orange sunsets; rusty brown-red dirt; bleached olive leaves; electric pink flowers… Take a look for yourself.
